The close competition for the redevelopment of Hannover South city freeway (Suedschnellweg) has been an occasion to rethink the role of private and public transport within the city and their relationship with landscape and residential areas. The project proposes a continuous elevated street on the existing embankment within the park, to protect grounded vegetation, and a flyover the built area, to ensure a lively public space and leisure activities below. A mobility hub connected to the new S-Bahn station, an express bus line and bicycle lane on the street guarantee public and non-motorized access to the street.
